UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
At the Elders meeting on Thursday, May 14, it was
decided to implement a summer worship schedule for 2009. During the months of
June, July and August, the weekend worship schedule will be:
Saturday Services—6:00 PM (Communion 2nd & 4th
Weeks)
Sunday Services—9:00 AM (Communion 1st & 3 rd
Weeks)
Bible Study—8:00 AM (In Chapel)
This new schedule began on Sunday, June 7. If you have any questions,
please call the church office.
Drivers Needed: We have several church members who
truly desire to Worship and Commune with their fellow church members on
Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings, but are unable to do so because of
transportation or health problems. If you would be willing to help pick up
someone for church or return them home, please call the church office. If we
have enough people sign up to help, a rotation schedule could be arranged.
If you are able to help, we need you! Thank you.
New Bible Study, “Spirituality and Witness”:
A new Bible study has begun on Sunday mornings (at 9:30am in the school
cafeteria) on a topic vitally important to all believers. “Spirituality and
Witness” seeks to lead the participant into an understanding of what a
spiritual person is like, as well as to know what the believer has available
in the Word of God. Some people have expressed an interest for an EVENING
BIBLE STUDY, so during May and June this topic will be repeated. Please join
us in the Ladies Lounge on Wednesday evenings May 13, 20, 27, June 10, 17,
and 24, at 7:00 PM
ST. JOHN'S ANNUAL PARKING LOT SALE -
SATURDAY JUNE 20 - 8 AM - 1 PM
Our annual parking lot sale in the Monroe Street lot from 8:00 AM-1:00 PM.
There will be bargains galore, including baked goods. If you are still wanting
to lease a space, call Ellen. We hope all of you will attend and tell your
friends about our sale. The Activities
Committee and Thrivent are having a bake sale as part of the parking lot sale on
June 20. All proceeds will help enhance the Fall Festival/Bazaar profits. If you
would like to donate baked goods or make a donation, please contact Imogene,
Barb, or Marilyn.
Vacation Bible School - 9am to Noon - July 27 to July 31
Come and discover how
to see God in your everyday life at “Crocodile Dock”. Enjoy team-building games,
cool Bible songs, tasty treats, and crafts, while learning fun Bible points
every day! Bring a friend! Volunteers will be needed in many
different areas as well. Please pray for volunteers to come forward and help
with this wonderful children’s ministry.
Would you like to help with VBS but can’t be here that week? Here is your
chance! We need help with our mission project for this this year’s VBS—we are
making fleece blankets for needy children. Each blanket requires TWO pieces of
fleece that measures 36” x 48” each. The two pieces will be tied together by the
children during VBS. We are hoping to make 50 blankets, so that means 100 pieces
of fleece! If you can help, please drop your material off in the Church Office or you can give
