UPCOMING ACTIVITIES Sunday, August 17 - Teacher Dedication for the 2008-2009 school year - The dedication will take place at the 8 A.M. worship service, followed by a “Meet and Greet” in the school cafeteria between services that will be sponsored by the School Board. Sunday, August 24 - 10 A.M. - Annual Outdoor Worship Service followed by Noon - Hog Roast in Gymnasium - Dining will be in the gym and the buffet will be set up in the cafeteria. (Please bring table service for your family and one or two dishes of generous proportion and/or dessert to share.) Beverages will be provided. Members of the Boards, Trustees, and the congregation are joining together to make this a meaningful day of worship followed by good food, fellowship, fun and games. You may bring your hot or cold dish to the kitchen before the Service. Sunday, September 7 - Sunday School will resume. In preparation of this blessed event, there will be a clean-up day on Saturday, August 23rd at 9:30 am (same day as set-up for the outdoor service). We will be hanging new bulletin boards, cleaning up the classrooms, and sorting/organizing materials for the new year. If you are able to help, please just show up and you'll be put to work. Little helping hands are also welcome (especially if they come with an adult). Sign up for Sunday School will begin on Sunday, August 24th at the Outdoor service. Sign-up is not required to attend, but assists in ordering the proper amount of materials. Saturday, October 16 - 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. - Annual Fall Festival - The Bazaar runs from 9-1 p.m. and luncheon from 11-1 p.m. For vendor information, contact the church office. St. John's Day School is in need of benefactors who would be willing to sponsor student tuition for the 2008-2009 school year. Please contact the school office at 362-6692 if you are able to help. Thank you, in advance, for helping more children receive a quality Christian education who might otherwise be unable to attend. Our Thrift Shop is in need of workers, as well as men to open and close the building and take on a few extra duties. Our Thrift Shop has been an asset to the community and our church for nearly 38 years, and has had many dedicated workers making it successful. If you can volunteer three hours a week, or open and close for a week or two, please contact Mary Jo Uebele. We will be happy to explain our needs and train you. Thank you for your consideration.
