La Porte Community Referral Services Available for Individuals & Families:
Dads Support Group by the KISS (Kids in Safe Surroundings) Program - free - 12 week program beginning in mid October on Thursday nights from 6-8pm at the V.N.A. in Michigan City. For information call 800-582-4198.
Depression & Panic Support Group - Meets 3rd Thursday of the month at Samaritan Counseling Center at First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte. It is free. For more information call (219)325-8225.
Divorce Support Group - TBA - Samaritan Counseling Center at First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte.
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Northern Indiana, Inc.- Free help with several confidential programs that can help you set goals, buy a home, plan for retirement, get out of debt, etc. There is also a debt management plan they can help you set up. A small monthly contribution toward the service is requested ($6 to $26/month). Located in South Bend at 1635 N Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46635 (219) 273-2131. Mom's Support Group - Meets Tuesdays from 10 to 11:30am at the Samaritan Counseling Center at First United Methodist Church, 1225 Michigan Avenue, La Porte, Room 207, for mothers of children of all ages. Facilitators are Kerry Sevigny, BA, RN, Congregational Nurse and Rev. Dale Guckenberger, M. Div., LMFT. It is free and child care is available. For more information call (219)325-8225.
New Moms "Oh Baby" Program - This free support group meets Tuesday afternoons from 1:30 - 3pm for mothers dealing with Baby Blues. For more information call (800)897-0007.
Pregnancy Assistance Center -
Various forms of aid and referral services available for young
women who are pregnant, or who have had an abortion and need

1pm & 5pm to 8pm.
