This Week at St. John’s The Resurrection of Our Lord-Easter Day - April 16, 2006 From Pastor Brauer: Come, you faithful, raise the strain of triumphant gladness! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! The long missed ‘Alleluias’ return and we gather as God’s redeemed, restored, forgiven, and joyful people to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for your sins and Jesus’ resurrection proclaims your freedom from death. Now, death must serve Him. That’s the great exodus! By God’s Holy Spirit you live that Easter life in all you do, for Christ is your health while you are living and He is your life when you shall die. Christ has triumphed over death! Alleluia! ANNOUNCEMENTS From The LCMS Indiana District: The staff of the Indiana District meets for prayer and Bible Study on Monday mornings. At this time they pray for the congregations and schools of the district. This past week our congregation was in their prayers. Please continue to remember them in your prayers as they carry out the work of the Kingdom. From the Board of Missions and Evangelism: A reminder that the first Mission Sunday of 2006 is on April 23.
